Stuart Chaussée

Stuart Chaussée specializes in portfolio management and investment planning for affluent individuals and business owners. The majority of his clients are either retired or nearing retirement. He works independently as a fee-only investment advisor and has 38 years of experience advising investors. Stuart Chaussée has over $325 million in assets under management.

Stuart holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He began his career in 1986 with Prudential-Bache Securities in Brussels, Belgium. He later worked for Merrill Lynch in Luxemburg and Belgium. He has worked independently since 1987. In addition to being a Registered Investment Advisor, Stuart has held the following professional designations: Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) (2020-2022), Chartered Socially Responsible Investing Counselor (CSRIC) (2020-2022), and Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA) (2020-2022).

In addition to managing money, Stuart Chaussée is the author of six investment books including the award-winning Advanced Portfolio Management: Strategies for the Affluent (Palisade Business Press). The book was noted in a Barron’s article titled “The Best Investment Books of 2002.” Barron’s staff said “Advanced Portfolio Management is aimed mainly at seasoned investors, though it describes complicated issues clearly and simply and gives advice that might be useful to both pros and amateurs.” His most recent writings, Understanding Risk, Investor Behavior and Surviving Bubbles and Dividend Investing for Income and Growth are included in Essential Works of Stuart Chaussée. Stuart’s latest book, Investor’s Guide to Buffer ETFs: Upside Growth Potential with Downside Protection, was published in 2024.

Stuart Chaussée is a former Vice Chairman of the Palos Verdes Art Center Endowment Fund. He is also a former contributing writer for the award-winning Financial Web site TheStreet.com. TheStreet.com was co-founded by James Cramer, the host of CNBC’s Mad Money program. Stuart is presently a contributing writer on financial matters for Peninsula Magazine. He is married with three children and is a long-time resident of Palos Verdes Peninsula, California.

Henry Chaussée

Henry Chaussée is a CFP™ Candidate – Passed the CFP™ Certification Exam in 2023. Henry has held the following professional designations: Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) (2020-2022), Chartered Socially Responsible Investing Counselor (CSRIC) (2020-2022), and Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA) (2020-2022).

Henry earned a Master’s degree in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia and a B.A. in History from Macalester College. He obtained his Certified Financial Planner Education Certification from Rice University. Henry’s studies in financial planning at the University of Georgia focused on the psychological and behavioral factors that influence financial decision making. At the University of Georgia, Henry provided counseling to individuals on all phases of the financial planning process.

At Macalester College Henry was awarded the Yahya Armanjani Global History Award for his work on contemporary architecture in Africa. He was a 3x member of the Midwest Conference Academic All-Conference Team, Dean’s List and Hampshire Honor Society member. Henry is an Associate and directly assists the firm in all aspects of investment management and financial planning.

Linda Chaussée

Linda handles administrative and clerical duties for Stuart Chaussee & Associates, Inc. She has held the following professional designation: Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) (2022-2023). She earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado and a Master’s degree in Art History from UC Santa Barbara.
